We’ve been talking about it for a few years. We’ve discussed our ideal camper. Towing vs. driving was our biggest divide. The main thing we both readily agreed upon was we wanted something small. We weren’t so much in a hurry as the plans were being made for the “future”. An undetermined place in time. Perhaps when we retired.
In early April while visiting my in laws, a terrific opportunity presented itself. They were getting ready to sell their 2008 Dodge Sprinter camper. Over 30 years of RV experienced gave my in laws all the know how and ideas needed to turn the cargo van into a cozy travel shack for two. My father in law is incredibly handy and an excellent woodworker. My mother in law is crafty and an adept seamstress. They created a comfortable space that maximizes storage and organization. We will be picking it up in a couple of weeks.
The NEW travel plan is to get out on the road as often as we can while we continue to work and save for retirement. The best of both worlds really, because I love my work. I think I’d miss it and even more, the people I work with. We will keep you posted along the way.
I’ll post photos when we pick it up. So exciting!
